What is a separator device?

A separator is a device used in industry to separate particles of different sizes. Vibrating and rotating screens can be used for this purpose. Of course, it should be borne in mind that the sieves are used for large particles and to produce micronized and very fine powders to obtain powder with different meshes, suitable mills and separators must be used.

The use of mills such as jaw mills, wing mills, blade and hammer mills, jet mills, etc.… creates powders with different particle sizes from fine to large. If homogeneous particle-sized powders are required, the coarse grains must be separated and returned to the mill to be completely pulverized and the whole product to be homogeneous. One of the most important types of separator devices are gravity separators, which separate large and heavy particles from small and light particles according to the weight of the material. In this way, a completely homogeneous powder can be obtained.
